We are looking for a well driven, motivated fun and friendly person to walk in to the role of Bar Manager in our busy, friendly LGBTQIA+ venue.
You must hold the relevant Licensing Act 2003 Personal Alcohol License or be in possession of the Level 2 Award for Personal License Holders (RQF) Qualification, in which you need to then apply for a Personal License through Cardiff Council.
You will work alongside existing Bar Managers in our venue and report to the Venue Manager, and oversee the operation of the Bar, managing bar staff on the day and ensuring relevant training is up to date, notifying Venue Manager if stock levels are low to ensure timely ordering completed (alcohol, beverages, bar supplies etc), and minimise waste and maintain hygiene standards, ensuring the bar and venue are clean and welcoming to our customers and staff. All this is underpinned by ensuring we adhere to current alcohol licenses and requirements and national laws. To enforce the ‘Challenge 25’ policy and check ID’s when needed and refuse service to intoxicated or underage customers.
Incentives are run for our bar staff, to help drive sales. This includes taking table-side orders during quieter times, amongst other incentives running at the time. You will also help develop and create new cocktails and specials for our drinks menu. If you feel you have ideas that can help grow the business, these are always listened to and encouraged.
You will also need to maintain a high level of customer service and manage complaints, and compliance whilst ensuring we remain profitable and provide a safe and welcoming environment to all that walk through our doors.
You will have interaction with artists that perform in our venue, ensuring their time with us is managed to a high standard whilst making sure they are felt welcomed.
We regularly run large scale events and parties, so will need to assist in managing and running these events, handling enquiries, bookings and cancellations.
