Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal coating adhesion
- Operate spray painting equipment and power tools efficiently to apply even coats of paint or protective finishes
- Mix paints, primers, and other coatings accurately according to specifications using basic math skills
- Use hand tools and fabrication techniques to modify or repair components before painting
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and goggles
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure finishes meet company standards and customer expectations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste materials and used supplies
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience handling hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Prior warehouse or construction painting experience preferred; familiarity with fabrication and assembly processes is a plus
- Basic math skills for measuring, mixing paints, and calculating coverage areas
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and safety guidelines accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and perform repetitive motions
- Knowledge of welding techniques and construction painting practices is advantageous
