SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT – JOIN TEAM WENDLEBERRIE
Wendleberrie House | 40 hours per week | £13.21 per hour
Wendleberrie House is looking for an experienced, compassionate and dependable Senior Care Assistant to join our friendly team.
We are seeking someone who leads by example, takes pride in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and can confidently support and guide colleagues during their shifts.
This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Senior Care Assistant who is ready to take on greater responsibility and continue developing their career within a supportive care environment.
Key responsibilities
Leading shifts and helping to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care
Delegating duties and ensuring required care tasks and records are completed during the shift
Supporting and guiding Care Assistants throughout the shift
Administering medication safely and completing the required records
Writing, reviewing and updating person-centred care plans
Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding appropriately to any changes
Responding to incidents, emergencies and changes in residents’ health, including escalating concerns appropriately
Communicating effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and healthcare professionals
Conducting clear and accurate handovers
Maintaining accurate care records and ensuring important information is reported promptly
Supporting new staff through induction and ongoing development
Promoting residents’ dignity, independence, choice and safety
Helping to maintain high standards and regulatory compliance throughout the home
The successful candidate will have
Previous experience working in a care environment
Previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant and leading shifts in a residential care setting
Experience and up-to-date training in medication administration
Experience in writing, reviewing and updating care plans
A good understanding of safeguarding, infection prevention, moving and handling, the Mental Capacity Act and person-centred care
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
The confidence to make appropriate decisions and respond calmly to changing situations
A compassionate, respectful and professional approach
A reliable and flexible attitude to work
The ability to work 40 hours per week, including every other weekend
A relevant care qualification, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
