The Trust is seeking a specialty doctor to join our Forensic Community Team service based in Norwich. The role offers the opportunity To provide specialised psychiatric care to patients with mental disorders who have offended to pose a high risk of harm.
Secure and Forensic Services for NSFT are rated as Good by the CQC. We provide a wide and growing body of clinical services operating in a variety of settings linked to criminal justice services.
- Assisting with discharge of patients from secure and in-patient care. Facilitating step-down care from medium or low secure units, supporting patients with severe mental illnesses living in the community, and preventing hospital readmission. The specialty doctor is expected to provide critical psychiatric care to mentally disordered offenders. They lead risk assessments, manage caseloads, prevent relapses, and coordinate with multi-agency teams, including probation and police, to safely integrate patients into society and prevent reoffending.
