We are specifically looking for Youth Workers who are qualified to deliver in our specialist Gym area, and you must hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification or higher.
Key responsibilities include:
- Be part of an inclusive, engaging, and up-to-date youth work team that delivers a programme of activities that are safe, inclusive and meet the needs of young people bringing fresh ideas and skills to the current offer.
- To motivate, encourage and support young people to try activities and participate fully in sessions.
- Ensure the Youth Zone is a safe, welcoming place for young people, maintaining high standards of behaviour.
- You will support with the delivery of a dynamic programme of activities within the Youth Zone’s Gym (including SEND), ensuring young people enjoy a diverse, high-quality range of activities that inspire growth and development.
- As part of the delivery team, ensure the Youth Zone meets key performance indicators (KPIs) including attendance targets and outcomes for funded projects.
You will have experience of:
- Some experience working with young people in a supportive or developmental role. While direct experience with SEND isn’t required, a willingness to support young people with additional needs is welcomed.
- Understanding the principles of working with children and young people.
- Awareness of basic safeguarding and H&S principles, ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people. Training will be provided in all related referral processes.
- If you have any experience supporting positive behaviour or helping manage conflict between young people this would be advantageous, however it’s not essential as training will be provided.
