We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist school in Havant on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working in challenging settings who is committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
The school provides education for boys with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), offering a small, nurturing environment where every student receives personalised support. With a highly differentiated curriculum and a strong focus on individual progress, the school helps pupils develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to succeed both in education and beyond. Students also benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular activities that enhance their learning and personal development.
The Role
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Support pupils to manage their behaviour and emotions in a calm and consistent manner.
- Encourage positive engagement with learning and school life.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting confidence, resilience and independence.
- Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working in challenging settings, such as SEN schools, alternative provision, youth work, residential care, mental health services or similar environments.
- A calm, resilient and patient approach, even in challenging situations.
- Confidence in managing behaviour positively and building strong relationships with young people.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
