Job Summary
Just In Cakes Co is a growing independent bakery, coffee and lunch spot in the centre of Kirkham. Everything we sell is made from scratch in our bakery, including cakes, traybakes, bread, focaccia sandwiches, sausage rolls and other savoury products.
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Bakery Production Assistant to join our small team and support with the day-to-day production of our menu.
This is a practical, hands-on role and would suit someone with experience in baking, catering, food production or a commercial kitchen. We would also consider someone with a genuine interest in baking who is keen to learn and has the right attitude.
Main responsibilities
The role will include:
- Preparing ingredients and following recipes accurately
- Assisting with bread and focaccia production
- Preparing sausage rolls and other savoury products
- Making and assembling sandwiches
- Supporting with cakes, cookies, traybakes etc when required
- Weighing, portioning and preparing ingredients
- Baking products and monitoring quality and consistency
- Labelling, stock rotation and organising ingredients
- Maintaining high food-hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Washing equipment and keeping work areas clean and organised
- Helping the bakery production run smoothly during busy periods
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working in a busy food-production environment
- Able to follow recipes and instructions carefully
- Organised and attentive to detail
- Happy to complete cleaning and general kitchen duties
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Willing to learn new skills and take feedback
- Comfortable being on their feet and carrying out repetitive preparation tasks
- Available for early-morning shifts and some Saturdays
Previous bakery, catering, food-production or commercial-kitchen experience would be beneficial, but full training will be provided on our products and systems.
A food-hygiene qualification would be helpful but is not essential.

Pay: £12.71-£14.50 per hour
