Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Yard Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of materials, ensuring the smooth loading and unloading of goods, and maintaining a safe and organized yard environment. The ideal candidate will have experience within the scrap metal recycling industry.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials using forklifts and manual handling, ensuring safety and accuracy at all times
- Operate forklifts safely
- Maintain an organized and tidy yard
- Conduct routine inspections on forklifts, reporting any issues promptly
- Sorting of various types of ferrous and non ferrous metals
Experience
- Previous scrap yard experience is highly desirable, with a solid understanding of different types of materials and the sorting process
- Experience operating forklifts is essential; certification is preferred but training can be provided for the right candidate
This is for a full time roll Monday to Friday with the option for overtime on a Saturday.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
