Vet’s Klinic Reading is a modern, independent, small animal veterinary practice. We are an RCVS accredited practice and first opened our doors 3 years ago. We have a growing client base and are looking for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our team.
We are a purposefully fitted site with two operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound and advanced anaesthetic monitoring. The practice also features some unique facilities such as a glass fronted prep room and secure online access for clients to their pets’ medical records, featuring photos and videos, as well as all clinical notes.
We are looking for a new graduate or recently qualified vet who is passionate about providing high standards of care to join our team. We are searching for a conscientious team member with a caring attitude and excellent communication skills who can work well as part of a team. You should have good time management skills and be ambitious. The practice thrives on its open, honest and supportive environment for both clients and staff.
We believe in the importance of a work-life balance, making the rota flexible in a way that works for each individual team member, so if you’re not looking for a full-time position, we would still love to hear from you.
Our full-time vets work a 4-day week with a fixed day off and 1 in 4 Saturday’s. Currently shifts on a typical week are two 8.30am – 6pm and two 9.30am – 7.30pm, with Saturday’s 8.30am – 12.30pm. There is no out-of-hours or in-patient on call as this is outsourced locally.
Here’s a summary of what we offer:
· Salary of £37,500 to 50,000 (depending on experience).
· No Sundays, out-of-hours or inpatient on call.
· 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays.
· 5 days CPD, basic budget of £1600 with certificates encouraged, supported, and funded.
· Professional fees for RCVS and Veterinary Defence Society paid.

Our large, purpose-built practice has state of the art, hospital standard facilities including dental x-ray, ultrasound, and full IDEXX laboratory including blood gases and Coags. We have regular visiting peripatetic specialists to assist with those more complex cases.
We are a friendly team of vets and nurses, with a range of experience, so you will always have plenty of support available. We are committed to supporting the ongoing development of the team and currently three of our vets have a certificate.
