Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, experience in senior care environments, and a genuine desire to promote social interaction and well-being among residents. Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement a variety of stimulating activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual needs and preferences, ensuring activities support residents’ emotional and physical well-being.
- Organize group events, outings, and one-on-one sessions that promote social interaction and community engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of activities provided, resident participation, and feedback to continually improve programming.
- Support residents in maintaining their independence through creative activity planning aligned with their capabilities.
- Promote a positive team environment by working closely with colleagues to integrate activities into daily routines effectively.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings with a focus on senior care or dementia care.
- Strong communication skills capable of engaging residents with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care principles and caregiving techniques tailored for individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Experience in organizing recreational activities that enhance mental stimulation and physical health.
- Compassionate attitude with the ability to motivate residents while respecting their dignity and individuality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality care.
- Familiarity with care home policies, health & safety regulations, and best practices in elder activity programming.
