Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 lorry to collect and deliver skips across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery services to contribute to a dynamic and customer-focused organisation. Candidates must hold a valid HGV licence and have experience in driving large vehicles, preferably with knowledge of flatbed operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 lorry to collect, transport, and deliver skips to designated sites.
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly before transit, adhering to safety regulations.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, including inspecting tyres, brakes, lights, and fluid levels, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of skips using appropriate equipment, maintaining health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding schedules and any delays.
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies during transit, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries or collections.
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with skip or waste collection vehicles.
- Familiarity with flatbed operations is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules efficiently.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively.
