Overview
Join us as a Freelance Vehicle Inspector, working on a self-employed basis to deliver professional pre-purchase vehicle inspections. In this flexible role, you'll carry out thorough inspections, identify mechanical and cosmetic issues, and provide detailed reports that help customers make informed buying decisions. This is a pay-per-inspection position, with earnings ranging from £45–£90 per completed inspection, depending on the inspection package. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive visual and mechanical inspections of vehicles, including engines, brakes, tires, lights, and other critical components
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform diagnostic checks and minor repairs if necessary
- Assess vehicle safety features and ensure compliance with local transportation regulations
- Document inspection findings accurately through detailed reports and digital records
- Identify potential issues requiring further maintenance or repair and communicate findings clearly to clients or fleet managers
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move or position vehicles or parts during inspections
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure all tools are calibrated and in good working condition
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for inspection tasks
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently during inspection processes
- Previous experience in vehicle inspection, automotive repair, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent attention to detail with strong observational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing your schedule effectively
- Must be able to do inspection on either London, Manchester or Birmingham
