Role Overview
As Head Chef/senior management
you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the kitchen operation, from menu creation and food quality to team leadership, cost control, and compliance. You will play a key role in shaping the food identity of The Cherry Tree while ensuring consistency, creativity, and profitability.
You will also work closely with the General Manager to support business growth through menu innovation, events, and private dining.

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Leadership & Operations
* Lead, manage, and inspire the kitchen team
* Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
* Ensure excellent hygiene and food safety standards at all times
Menu Development & Food Quality
* Design and deliver seasonal, fresh, and commercially viable menus
* Incorporate local and high-quality ingredients wherever possible
* Develop specials and event menus to drive interest and revenue
* Continuously review and improve dishes based on feedback and trends
Stock Control & Cost Management
* Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
* Control food costs, wastage, and margins effectively
* Work within budget targets while maintaining quality
Private Hire & Events
* Support the development of private dining and event menus
* Deliver high-quality catering for functions such as weddings, parties, and corporate events
* Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure seamless event execution
Compliance & Standards
* Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations
* Maintain accurate records (HACCP, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, etc.)

Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a similar environment
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Passion for fresh, seasonal food and menu innovation
* Solid understanding of kitchen financials, including GP and cost control
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Level 2/3 Food Hygiene certification (required)
