We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Level 3 qualified Early Years Educator who is passionate about helping children thrive. To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- NVQ Level 3 in Early Years (or an equivalent recognised childcare qualification).
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
- A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families and colleagues.
- The ability to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
- Paediatric First Aid and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain/maintain them).
- A positive, reliable and team-focused approach with a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our friendly childcare team.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference during the most important years of a child's development. You will plan and deliver engaging learning experiences, support children's individual needs and help create an environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
- Provide high-quality care and supervision throughout the day, including play, mealtimes and rest periods.
- Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Observe, monitor and record children's progress, supporting their individual learning journeys.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers through open and effective communication.
- Maintain accurate records and complete nursery documentation as required.
- Promote positive behaviour using patience, kindness and consistency.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and childcare policies are always followed.
- Support, encourage and mentor junior team members or apprentices where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in an early years or nursery environment.
- Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
Desirable
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience supporting children with a range of individual learning and development needs.
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues.
