We are seeking a reliable and motivated Leisure Centre Cleaning Operative to join our team and help maintain exceptional cleaning standards throughout our busy leisure facility.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers, visitors, and staff. In addition to the contracted hours, there may be opportunities to work additional hours during school holidays, special events, and periods of increased business demand.
Key Areas of Responsibility
You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining a range of areas across the leisure centre, including:
- Gym and fitness suites
- Swimming pool and lagoon areas
- Changing rooms and shower facilities
- Toilets and washrooms
- Reception and public areas
- Sports halls and activity spaces
- Studios and treatment rooms
- Staff areas and offices
- Corridors, stairwells and entrance areas
Main Duties
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and polishing floors.
- Cleaning and sanitising gym equipment and touchpoints.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness around poolside and lagoon areas.
- Cleaning and replenishing changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Replenishing cleaning and hygiene consumables.
- Following Health & Safety, COSHH and site procedures at all times.
- Reporting maintenance and safety concerns to management.
- Ensuring all areas are presented to a high standard throughout each shift.
What We're Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable with strong timekeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in wet environments such as poolside and changing areas.
- A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
