We manufacture, maintain, refurbish and install both shafted and shaft-less screw conveyors to clients throughout the UK water industry including Wastewater, Municipal Waste, and Recycling companies amongst others.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Workshop Operative to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with assembly, equipment maintenance, and general workshop tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within a dynamic environment, contributing to the efficient operation of our workshop facilities. The position is suitable for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in a technical setting.
Duties
- Assist with the assembly of components using hand tools and power tools according to specifications
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of workshop equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Support the organisation and management of warehouse stock, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials
- Prepare materials and parts required for production or assembly tasks
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles such as lorries or vans
- Follow detailed instructions from supervisors to ensure quality standards are met during all tasks
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of basic machinery and equipment operation
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Experience with assembly processes within a warehouse or workshop environment is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and adhere to safety protocols
