We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Venue and Activities Coordinator to join us on a 12 month maternity cover contract at the Hugh Fraser Retirement Estate.
This is an exciting and varied role where you'll play a key part in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents by developing an engaging programme of activities, managing our communal spaces, and building strong connections with the local community.

As Venue and Activities Coordinator, you will be at the heart of creating a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive environment for our residents and the wider community. You'll be responsible for developing and delivering a range of engaging activities and events, managing communal spaces, and supporting income generation through venue hire and community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Activities and Community Engagement

Develop and deliver a varied programme of social, recreational and cultural activities tailored to residents' interests and needs.

Build positive relationships with residents, encouraging participation and gathering feedback to continuously improve activities.

Engage with local organisations, clubs and community groups to enrich the lives of residents.

Organise and host inclusive events that bring together residents and the wider community.

Promote activities and events through newsletters, posters, social media and internal communications.
Venue and Facilities Management

Oversee the day-to-day management of communal spaces, ensuring venues are safe, welcoming and ready for use.

Manage the venue booking system, coordinating internal and external bookings efficiently.

Coordinate event logistics, including room setup, equipment and catering requirements.

Work closely with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.

Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding and organisational policies.

Coordinate volunteers, facilitators and external providers supporting activities and events.
Income Generation and Promotion

Manage room hire enquiries and bookings, including invoicing and payments.

Promote venue hire opportunities through local networks, community outreach and social media.

Monitor attendance, income and participant feedback to support future planning.

Support fundraising initiatives and sponsorship opportunities through events and partnerships.
We're looking for someone who is organised, creative and passionate about improving the lives of older people.
You will have:

Experience in event coordination, community engagement or facilities management.

Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with a proactive approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with older adults and a wide range of stakeholders.

Confidence using booking systems, Microsoft Office and promotional tools such as social media and marketing materials.

The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.

A genuine passion for building community and enhancing wellbeing.
