Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and related trades, with the ability to work safely and efficiently at height. Duties
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of roofing systems, including flat and pitched roofs
- Reading and interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
- Welding metal components as required for secure fittings and structural integrity
- Fabricating components on-site using welding, carpentry, masonry, or plumbing skills as needed
- Performing heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and insulation materials
- Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and building regulations
- Assisting with the preparation of surfaces and waterproofing measures to extend roof lifespan
- Collaborating with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
Experience
- Prior experience in roofing or related construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or fabrication is preferred
- Knowledge of schematics, welding techniques, hand tools, power tools, and construction methods is advantageous
- Experience working at height on ladders or scaffolding is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to roofing work including fall protection measures
- Previous experience in a team environment within the construction industry is desirable
