Purpose and objectives of the role:
Experienced and highly organised Pallet Network Supervisor to oversee and optimise our pallet distribution. The role will include supervising network deliveries, drivers, vehicles/ trailers and optimising resources whilst controlling costs and maintaining high service levels.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of pallet network distribution, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods –
- Act as a point of contact between the company and pallet network customers and partners.
- Monitor network performance, including service levels, delivery times, and damage rates.
- Analyse transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
- Manage resources effectively to optimise performance.
- Manage escalations, service failures, and customer complaints related to pallet deliveries.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements with pallet network providers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport, safety, and regulatory requirements – coordinate with Managing Director.
- Collaborate with warehouse, transport, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Implement KPIs and performance tracking for network efficiency and service quality.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across pallet distribution processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in pallet network operations or transport/logistics management.
- Strong understanding of UK pallet networks and distribution systems.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Commercial approach.
