The Role
As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding are consistently achieved.
Leading by example, you will inspire and develop your team, create an exceptional learning environment for children, and build strong relationships with families while maintaining full compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent organisational skills, a passion for early years education and the ability to motivate others to deliver outstanding practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated and enthusiastic nursery team.
- Ensure the nursery operates in line with the EYFS, safeguarding legislation and all statutory requirements.
- Promote outstanding teaching, learning and child development across the setting.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals and performance management.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, colleagues and external agencies.
- Monitor occupancy, staffing ratios and the efficient day-to-day operation of the nursery.
- Drive continuous improvement and support the nursery's ongoing quality assurance and Ofsted readiness.
- Manage nursery resources and budgets effectively.
- Create an inclusive, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
About You
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced leader who is committed to delivering exceptional early years education and creating positive outcomes for children and families.
You will have:
- A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Previous experience in a Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager position, or significant leadership experience within an early years setting.
- Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding legislation and Ofsted requirements.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- A proactive approach with a genuine passion for providing outstanding childcare and education.
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete training).
