The Development Designer is responsible for producing accurate, high-quality technical designs and manufacturing documentation that support the successful delivery of retail environments, fixtures, displays and branded solutions.
Working as part of the Development team, the role supports the translation of creative concepts into practical, manufacturable and commercially viable solutions. An in-depth understanding of the end-user requirements and manufacturing processes will be essential for every project. The Development Designer will contribute to technical development activities, maintain accurate development data and drawings, and support continuous improvement of systems, standards and processes.
The role works closely with Design, Project Management, Procurement, Production and Print teams to ensure solutions are technically robust, cost-effective and production ready.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Experience in technical design, product development, manufacturing, interior fit-out or related sectors.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Rhino, AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and construction methods.
- Ability to interpret and understand a brief then develop practical technical solutions.
- Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable
- Experience working with ERP systems and BOM management.
- Knowledge of retail fixtures, displays, signage or branded environments.
- Experience managing technical documentation and drawing control systems.
- Understanding of value engineering and cost optimisation principles.
Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
