Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supply Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities across various educational settings. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with children and young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing tailored support to students. This position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about education and supporting children's development.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across different subjects and year groups
- Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism and other disabilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group tutoring to reinforce learning objectives
- Mentor students to promote positive behaviour and confidence
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive environment
- Support students with personal care needs where necessary
- Adapt teaching materials to meet individual student requirements
- Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and parents where appropriate
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in educational or care settings is desirable
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or supporting children with diverse needs is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, teachers, and parents
- A genuine passion for education, inclusion, and supporting children's development
