Are you a friendly, reliable and caring person who enjoys being part of a team? We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our successful Before and After School Club in Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield, caring for children aged 4–11 years.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone looking for regular weekday, term-time-only work, working alongside our Catering Manager to prepare and serve snacks and drinks for the children during our afternoon session.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting our Catering Manager with preparing snacks and drinks for the children.
- Helping to keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean, safe and hygienic.
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
- Helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable snack time for the children.
- Working as part of our friendly and supportive team.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, friendly and enthusiastic.
- Caring and comfortable working around children aged 4–11.
- Organised and able to work well as part of a team.
- Conscientious about cleanliness and food hygiene.
- Food Hygiene qualified – desirable but not essential.
Previous experience working with children or in a catering environment would be an advantage, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who is positive, responsible and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of children.

The successful applicant will be required to:
- Provide two suitable references.
- Complete an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting employment.
