Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Fish and Chip Shop team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where you will gain valuable experience in food preparation and kitchen operations. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Duties
- Prepare and cook fish, chips, and other menu items according to company recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service
- Serve customers at the counter or via takeaway orders with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage stock levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the shop
Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and kitchen operations
