Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Container Driver tramper to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating flatbed lorries on long-distance journeys, primarily focusing on delivery and collection tasks across various locations. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, specialising in Container transportation, across national routes.
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks and ensure the vehicle is compliant with legal and safety standards.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring proper securing of cargo on flatbeds.
- Follow planned routes and schedules, maintaining punctuality at all delivery points.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks.
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies during all journeys.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle throughout shifts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar equipment.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of road safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during long-distance hauls.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally.
- Flexibility to undertake tramper duties involving extended periods away from base locations.
