Accuracy Checking Technician (Full Time)
Location: Michie's Pharmacy, 391 Union Street, Aberdeen
Hours: Full time (37.5-40 hours per week) Contract: Permanent
About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our busy Union Street Branch. This is a key role within our clinical and dispensing team, supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical care for our patients.
As an ACT, you will work closely with our pharmacists, dispensers, and wider clinical team to ensure the accuracy of dispensed prescriptions, contribute to workflow management, and support the expansion of our growing service portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions in line with GPhC standards
- Support dispensary workflow to maintain safe and efficient turnaround times
- Assist with stock management, ordering, and controlled drug processes
- Provide excellent patient care and support at the medicines counter when required
- Work collaboratively with the pharmacist and wider team to maintain high governance standards
- Contribute to the delivery of clinical services, including Pharmacy First Plus, vaccinations, and private services
- Uphold all SOPs, clinical governance requirements, and company policies
About You
- Qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC
- Completed Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work proactively in a fast‑paced environment
- A positive, professional attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
