Newport CNC is a small, established precision engineering company based in Wymbush, Milton Keynes. We manufacture precision CNC machined components for customers in industries including aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical and motorsport.
We're looking for a CNC Setter / Operator to join our workshop team.
We're ideally looking for someone with good CNC setting and operating experience who takes pride in producing quality work and is keen to develop their skills further.
The role
- Setting and operating CNC machine tools
- Setting tools and offsets
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- First-off and in-process inspection
- Using standard measuring equipment
- Recording production information
- Deburring and finishing components
- Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Maintaining a clean and safe working area
- Identifying and reporting tooling, quality or process issues
- Working with the wider team to meet production and delivery requirements
We're looking for someone who can confidently set and operate CNC machines, read engineering drawings and use standard measuring equipment.
Previous CNC programming experience isn't required. For the right person, there will be opportunities to develop CNC programming skills through training and hands-on experience.
Fanuc experience would be an advantage, as would experience with milling, turning, 3-axis or 5-axis machining.
We're more interested in finding the right person than someone who has experience on every type of machine. The role would suit someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work and is keen to learn and develop.
As a small business, all employees are expected to support the wider team where required and undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
£14-£18 per hour, with opportunities for progression as skills and responsibilities develop.
