Summary
This is a hands-on fast paced operational role responsible for ensuring every project has the right materials ordered and delivered on time.
You will personally manage the end to end ordering of all materials and plan daily deliveries, including assigning vans and drivers and organising routes.
This is not a strategic or oversight-only role, you will be actiely involved in the day to day execution of ordering and logistics.
Responsibilities
Ordering & Procurement
- Raise purcahse orders abd personally order all materials required for 20/30 projects per week
- Manage orders to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Track supplier lead times and availability to ensure continuity of supply
- Proactively resolve shortages, delays or issues before they impact installations
Delivery Planning & Logistics
- Plan daily schedules, ensuring all projects are delivered on time
- Assign vans and drivers each day, considering load capacity and geography
- Create efficient delivery routes
- Contact customers to coordinate delivery timing (including early delivery where possible)
- Manage last minute changes, re-routing and problem solving in real time
Team & Operational Support
- Coordinate with Warehouse Operative & Drivers
- Provide clear daily instuctions to drivers and ensure smooth executon
- Support the warehouse when required (e.g absence/pressure points)
- Help maintain an organised, efficient warehouse and delivery operation
We are looking for someone who:
Enjoys being hands-on and in control of day to day operations
Is highly organised and able to manage a high volume of orders accurately
Is confident in planning deliveries, routes and schedules
Is proactive, practical and solution-focused
Is comfortable working at pace and handling last-minute changes
Communicates clearly with suppliers, drivers and customers
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
