This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead a busy café bar operation in Cheshire. The role is focused on ensuring the venue is ready for business each day, operating to its full potential and consistently delivering strong sales, high standards and excellent customer service.
As General Manager, you will take responsibility for the day to day control of the café bar, leading the team, managing stock, overseeing service standards and ensuring the business continues to achieve company objectives. You will need to be commercially aware, sales driven and confident managing people, performance, rotas, wage budgets, cash handling and customer feedback.
This role would suit a hands on hospitality manager with strong café, bar, pub, restaurant or food and beverage experience. You will need to bring energy, organisation and clear leadership, with the ability to motivate the team, maintain brand standards and create a safe, welcoming and well run environment for guests and colleagues.
General Manager Ideal Profile:
- Previous management experience within hospitality, café, bar, pub, restaurant or food and beverage operations
- Proven record of driving sales, performance and customer satisfaction
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train and develop a team
- Commercially aware with experience managing stock, rotas, wage budgets and daily cash reports
- Confident dealing with customer feedback, complaints and operational challenges professionally
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices
- Well organised, hands on and able to maintain high standards across service, presentation and team performance
- Must hold a valid Personal Licence
General Manager Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the day to day running of the café bar and ensure it is ready for business each day
- Maximise sales, profitability and guest satisfaction through strong leadership and service standards
- Ensure food and drink standards are delivered consistently in line with company and brand expectations
- Lead, support and develop supervisors and team members to maintain high standards of service
- Manage staff presentation, performance, absence, holidays, rotas and timesheets in line with wage budgets
- Maintain secure and cost effective stock levels, including bar and branded products
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment
- Handle customer complaints, feedback and issues in a courteous and efficient manner
- Oversee cash handling and ensure daily cash reports are completed accurately
- Recruit, train and develop an effective team while making full use of company systems and procedures
- Report maintenance faults promptly and support the smooth running of the venue
