Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial properties.MUST DRIVE AND HAVE VAN This role requires a strong understanding of roofing systems, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The ideal applicant will possess relevant skills in construction, carpentry, and the use of various tools, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to roofing projects.
- Install new roofs using appropriate materials such as shingles, metal panels, or membranes.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing components efficiently and safely.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment for cutting, shaping, and fastening roofing materials.
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks as required for customised roofing solutions.
- Assist with the installation of flashing, gutters, and other roof-related components.
- Conduct inspections to ensure roofing work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as masons, plumbers, or carpenters when necessary.
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong understanding of roofing systems and materials.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights comfortably.
- Basic skills in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general construction are advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks throughout the workday.
