This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Finance team in Doncaster.
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to deliver high level financial advice, guidance and day to day business partner support across the Place and Chief Executives directorates. The two directorates cover a variety of services including Waste, Highways, Bereavement and Strategic Assets and includes a number of complex capital projects.
You will be joining a well-regarded finance team that encourages innovative and creative thinking. A positive, supportive and proactive work environment is promoted, with regular feedback, recognition and development opportunities.
The post will be part of a strong and supportive team, working hard towards developing our financial management service. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to establish positive relationships and communicate effectively with senior managers and partners to provide appropriate challenge and support to assist in decision making.
The ideal candidate will have a professional accountancy qualification (CIPFA or equivalent) and a proven track record of successfully preparing budgets, monitoring budget targets, completing final accounts in a complex and customer focussed environment.
We are looking for someone with excellent judgement and strong analytical skills who can produce and challenge information. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships and communicate effectively with senior managers and partners such as South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. The role will involve working with limited supervision and using initiative to deliver work within often challenging timescales. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of leading a successful team and promoting development and personal growth.
