Kitchen Assistant – Care Home
Location: Hillside Nursing Home - Aylesbury HP19 8AB
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team.
You will play an important role in supporting the kitchen team to provide nutritious, delicious and well-presented meals for our residents, while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals
- Helping with breakfast, lunch and evening meals
- Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Supporting the chef and wider kitchen team
- Helping to ensure residents' dietary requirements and preferences are followed
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and enthusiastic
- Caring and respectful towards older people
- A good team player with a positive attitude
- Able to work in a busy kitchen environment
- Willing to learn and follow food hygiene procedures
- Previous kitchen or care home experience
