Location: The Lakehouse, Heron Lakes Lodge Park
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: 2–3 days per week, including Saturdays and Sundays
Additional hours: Potential for extra shifts during busy periods and events
About The Lakehouse
The Lakehouse is a busy and welcoming restaurant, café and bar located at Heron Lakes Lodge Park. We pride ourselves on serving great food in a relaxed, friendly environment and are looking for a Culinary Assistant to join our kitchen team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen, is reliable and wants to develop their skills in a friendly team environment.
The Role
As a Culinary Assistant, you will support our chefs with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help ensure food is prepared and served to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting chefs with food preparation and basic cooking
- Preparing ingredients and supporting the kitchen team during service
- Helping with plating and presentation
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and hygienic
- Washing up and maintaining kitchen equipment when required
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Helping with stock rotation and storage
- Supporting the team during busy services, weekends and events
- Maintaining a positive and professional attitude
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Passionate about food and interested in developing their kitchen skills
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Calm and organised during busy periods
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Friendly and approachable
- Comfortable working weekends
Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential — we're happy to consider someone with a genuine interest in hospitality who is keen to learn.
