Job Overview
We are seeking either an experienced or ambitious individual looking to take the next step in their career to join our Production Team as a GAP Leader. Reporting to the Supervisor on shift, the role will primarily be ensure your team of production operators are following safe practices and achieving their daily targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a designated production area to ensure daily targets for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity are achieved.
- Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day activities of production operators, providing guidance and support where required.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all procedures and safe working practices are followed.
- Monitor product quality, ensuring all specifications and standards are consistently met and escalating issues promptly.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved by effectively managing resources and responding quickly to changing priorities.
- Support team members through coaching, training, and on-the-job development to improve performance and capability.
- Carry out regular performance and process checks, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with maintenance, quality, planning, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
- Assist with shift handovers, communicating key information to ensure continuity across shifts.
- Support the implementation of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in line with 5S principles.
- Act as the first point of contact for operators, escalating issues to the Production Manager or Supervisor when appropriate.
- Deputise for the Production Supervisor during periods of absence where required.
What we are looking for
- Previous expereince in manufacturing or production environment is desirable
- Experience in a team leader, GAP Leader or supervisory role is desirable
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast paced environment
- A positive attitude with a focus on delivering results
This position offers a dynamic, alternating shift pattern (rotating weekly between 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm). Perfect for those who like variety in their schedule and want to keep their nights completely free!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £31,554.51 per year
