Job Summary
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Nursery Bank Staff to join our team on a flexible basis. This role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of our nursery, assisting with childcare activities, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for all children. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in early childhood education or childcare to contribute to children’s development and well-being while gaining valuable management and leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and engaging children during a variety of activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the delivery of age-appropriate educational programmes and play experiences.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development.
- Work collaboratively with full-time staff to implement daily routines and behavioural expectations.
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents or guardians to foster positive relationships.
- Support management in organising resources and preparing materials for activities.
- Uphold health and safety standards in line with nursery policies and procedures.
- Be adaptable to cover shifts as required, including mornings, afternoons, or occasional evenings.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is essential.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best childcare practices.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and organisational skills suitable for managing small groups of children.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driving licence is desirable.
- Management experience or leadership potential is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where needed.
- A caring attitude, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for working with young children are essential.

Pay: £13.15-£13.35 per hour
