We are looking for a dynamic and experienced ESOL Trainer to deliver engaging group-based English language instruction to adult learners from diverse backgrounds. The role involves planning and delivering lessons that support learners in developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English, with a focus on communication and integration.
Position Description
The post holder will:
- Deliver ESOL lessons to groups of learners at varying proficiency levels from E1-E3
- Design and adapt lesson plans to suit group dynamics and learning objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles.
- Monitor and assess learner progress through group activities, assessments, and feedback.
- Encourage peer learning and group interaction to enhance language acquisition.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and learner feedback.
- Support learners in setting and achieving personal learning goals.
- Collaborate with other trainers and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Stay current with ESOL teaching methodologies and best practices to deliver excellence
- Adhere to and achieve KPI targets set by management linking to retention, achievement and progressions for existing learners
- Contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the organisation ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of the business
- Contribute to the strategic objectives of the curriculum area and to actively engage in the annual Quality Improvement Plan and audit to drive up quality of delivery
- Ensure all areas of work comply with identified audit requirement
- To attend and contribute fully to team meetings and standardisation meetings

Essential Job Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience relevant to the role:
- A recognised ESOL/TEFL qualification (e.g., CELTA, TESOL, PGCE in ESOL).
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience teaching ESOL to adults in a classroom or online setting.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for teaching.
- Trainer/Assessors Qualified
- Passionate about teaching and learning and continuous improvement
- Knowledge and proficient use of: Microsoft 365/TEAMS
- Personal qualities of integrity, honesty, transparency, and commitment to ownership of the mission & values of the organisation

Desirable Job Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience relevant to the role:
- Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or migrant communities.
- Knowledge of curriculum frameworks such as CEFR or ESOL Core Curriculum.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for mixed-ability groups.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
