Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our friendly & dynamic kitchen team based in Tiptree. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety and providing high quality meals within our busy family run Pub Restaurant & Carvery serving fresh, seasonal British & European comfort food. We love cooking from scratch, no shortcuts and look after our team properly.
Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation standards
- Food safety compliance & maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and customer satisfaction
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold quality standards and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in a kitchen role, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Solid background in food production and restaurant service
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of quality
- Carvery experience is preferred but not essential as training can be provided
- A passion for culinary excellence and customer service excellence is essential for success in this role
- Driving License due to location
