Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and upbeat chef to join our busy kitchen in the centre of Nantwich. You will be required to support the head chef and in his absence be competent in running the kitchen., including food prep, ordering of stock, all related paperwork and cleaning schedules. We produce fresh, where we can homemade dishes using largely local suppliers and always welcome inspiration especially for our specials board.
Duties
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking in the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality control.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and cooking techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail in food presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is essential.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
