Class 1 HGV Lead Driver - Walking Floor (Tramping)
Location: Glasgow
This position is for holiday and sickness cover. You would not be allocated your own permanent vehicle and some weekend shifts may be required to meet business needs.
Salary: £51,043.20 + overtime available

What You’ll Get:
- Basic salary of £51,043.20 per year, plus night out pay and overtime*

We are looking for an experienced and professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team as a Lead Driver. (YOU MUST HAVE WALKING FLOOR EXPERIENCE 5 YEAR PLUS)
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver looking to take the next step in their career and take on additional responsibility within our growing driver team.
The Role
As a Lead Driver, you will continue to carry out driving duties while supporting new and existing drivers across the operation.
You will work closely with the management team to help maintain high standards of safety, compliance and driver performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading by example and maintaining high professional standards
- Supporting and mentoring new and existing drivers
- Assisting with driver inductions and onboarding
- Supporting driver training and development
- Helping drivers with day-to-day operational issues
- Promoting vehicle safety, compliance and correct daily checks
- Providing constructive feedback to drivers and management
- Supporting improvements in driver standards across the business
What We're Looking For
- Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Experienced and professional HGV driver
- Strong understanding of drivers' hours and compliance
- Excellent communication skills
- Approachable and confident when supporting other drivers
- Ability to lead by example
- walking floor experience is a must
