Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our small kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including organising work schedules and delegating tasks
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in flavour, presentation, and portion control
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Manage inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any faults or issues promptly
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service during service periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or hospitality is highly desirable
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant vocational training is advantageous

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
