About Us
We're an ambitious, family-run restaurant and pub in the Bridgend area. From 1st September, we're taking over the tenancy and are growing the team. Our focus is great food, great atmosphere, and brilliant, fresh pub-style cooking done properly. We're looking for a Head Chef ready to be part of that journey with us.
Your Bread & Butter
- Competitive salary: £35,000 - £37,500, dependent on experience
- 45 hours per week, with evenings and weekends required as part of the role

The Role
As Head Chef, you'll take full ownership of the kitchen from daily service to supplier relationships, and play a key role in shaping how our food is run as we develop new menus and operations under new management.
We're looking for someone genuinely passionate about food, who wants to keep growing and developing, and who brings real pride to every single dish that leaves the pass.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining consistent food quality
- Running the kitchen day-to-day across restaurant, bar and event/function room service
- Building and developing the menu, balancing high-quality food with efficient, cost-effective execution
- Managing kitchen GP
- Managing food ordering, stock control and supplier relationships
- Leading, training and supporting kitchen staff
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards throughout
- Working closely with the owners as we settle in together
Must Haves
- Proven experience in a Senior Sous or Head Chef role
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Hands-on, dependable, and confident running a busy service
- Right to work in the UK
Preferred
- Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification (or equivalent)
- Own transport
