The Role
We are looking to recruit a permanent Pipefitter/Welder to join our Site Services team, based from our Norwich facility. The successful candidate will carry out pipefitting and TIG welding activities on customer sites. When not deployed on site, you will be seconded to our Norwich workshop, supporting fabrication and manufacturing activities.
This role offers a balance of site-based work and workshop fabrication, making it ideal for a skilled tradesperson seeking long-term stability while still working on varied and technically challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pipefitting and welding activities on industrial sites in the East Anglian region
- Perform high-quality TIG, MMA welding
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, fabrication drawings and weld specifications
- Measure up existing pipework on site and produce accurate sketches for fabrication
- Work with a range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, , Ductile Iron, PVC, ABS, MDPE pipe.
- Install various pumps, valves and other plant
- Fabricate and install steelwork
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and quality at all times
- Comply with site HSE requirements and Panks quality systems
Ideal Candidate
- Time-served Pipefitter with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and CSCS card
- Able to read and understand isometric drawings
- Experienced working with Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels, Ductile Iron, PVC, ABS, HDPE
- Capable of measuring up pipework and producing sketches for fabrication
- Competent in tacking and welding using the TIG and MMA process. Previous or current welding coding are desirable,
- The following training is desirable Confined Space, PASMA, MEWP, Banksman, Slinger, Fork Truck, HIAB, EUSR, Fire Marshall, Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling
- Safety-conscious, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a site and workshop team
- Based within a commutable distance of Norwich
