Job Overview
At LARN Haulage Ltd I’m looking for a reliable, honest and skilled HGV class 1 Driver to join us. The role that’s being advertised is for a tramper driver who has experience in both general haulage and flat bed haulage. The role will be a minimum of 60 hours and could be as many as 67 hours. LARN haulage is a small company consisting of only 2 drivers at presence so you can be guaranteed you won’t just be a number. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting loads safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a lorry, including flatbed models, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of oneself and others on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating lorries.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving heavy vehicles.
- Ability to navigate using maps or GPS systems effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining delivery records.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading tasks as required.
