We are currently recruiting for a part-time Nursery Cook to join our wonderful team at our private day nursery in Calverton, Nottingham (NG146JW). The position is Thursday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pm, throughout the year. You will be responsible for providing healthy and nutritious meals for our children who are aged between 3 months to 5 years old.
There will be opportunity for overtime; when your job share is on holiday on the Mondays - Wednesdays. We do also have another nursery so there would also be potential to cook at our other site when that cook is on holiday on Mondays - Wednesdays.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with management and other cooks from sister settings to create seasonal menus which you will then follow on rotation.
- Plan, prepare and cook healthy balanced meals for up to 55 children per day, taking into account of any special dietary needs.
- To maintain high standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance in accordance with the companies hygiene policy.
- Effective management of the kitchen (Planning ahead to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen).
- Organise mealtimes to ensure minimum disruption for childcare practitioners
- Ensure kitchen is maintained to the highest standard in all areas (cleanliness, hygiene etc.).
- Create weekly shopping lists
