Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and eager to develop their management and childcare skills. The role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality care and education within a nurturing environment, fostering the development of young children while gaining valuable experience in nursery operations and early years management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote children's learning and development
- Support the daily routines of children, including meal times, play, rest, and hygiene routines
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment
- Support senior staff with administrative tasks related to child records and activity planning
- Participate in ongoing training programmes to develop childcare knowledge and management skills
- Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equality
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in a childcare setting is desirable but not essential; a genuine passion for early childhood education is required
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Management or leadership qualities are advantageous for future progression within the role
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between nursery locations or community visits
- A recognised qualification in early childhood education or childcare (or willingness to undertake relevant training) is preferred
