The Bell Inn is an award winning 16th Century inn. It has a loyal customer base and has seen year on year growth under the current ownership which is in its 11th year. It is well established but still has potential for growth. Catering for 72 covers and having 3 guest bedrooms it is a destination pub with 2 AA rosettes. The kitchen was fully refitted 7 years ago and is an all electric kitchen with induction hobs. You will be joining a brigade led by a chef proprietor.
The food offering is modern English cuisine with a strong emphasis on using local and seasonal produce. Dishes are cooked and prepared from scratch including for example home made bread, ice cream and butter. Ideal candidate will work well in a close-knit team and be a pro-active individual that is willing to learn and develop their current skills, as well as being dedicated to preparing a high standard of food.
Due to the size and experience of our team we are flexible on working hours and can accommodate part time or full time. We are looking for someone who is passionate about producing seasonal food and shares our vision. Positions available up to and including sous chef. Salary dependent on experience and whether full time or Part time.

The job role includes:
· Preparing and cooking ingredients necessary and assisting in all sections of the kitchen as directed by the Head Chef
· Maintaining high levels of service
· Assisting and monitoring stock, including stock rotation,
· Ensuring minimum kitchen wastage
· Keeping all working areas clean and tidy and ensuring no cross contamination
· Learning skills and recipes from other members of the department and applying them
· Complying with all company policies and procedures and all statutory regulations and food hygiene policies.
· Ensure that food storage areas are maintained in accordance with the company’s Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
· Any other reasonable duties required by the Head Chef or General Manager

We are a small team and as in most kitchens you'll do food preparation work and rotate through sections as well as having responsibility for your own section.
