Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support with food presentation and garnishing to meet quality standards
- Help manage stock levels, organise ingredients, and assist with inventory checks
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all kitchen activities
- Support in supervising junior staff or trainees when required, demonstrating leadership qualities
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, and cooking within a professional kitchen or hospitality setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience supervising or managing team members is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and senior staff
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving procedures, and culinary techniques
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of quality and safety
