Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Oversee all aspects of food production, from preparation to presentation, maintaining consistency and excellence.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen environment.
- Train and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive team culture centred on continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.
- Monitor food costs and minimise waste while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across diverse cuisines.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a culinary team effectively.
- Demonstrable experience in food safety practices and compliance with health regulations.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous.
- A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates.
