General Manager / Operations Manager

The Barns is a collection of luxury holiday properties in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, welcoming family groups, celebrations, corporate retreats and special occasions throughout the year.
We are looking for an experienced, practical and personable manager to help oversee the day-to-day operation of the business. This is a flexible role that can be shaped around the right individual and offers an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a rewarding hospitality position with genuine work-life balance and the support of a friendly, established team.
About the Role
Working closely with the business owner, you will help ensure the smooth running of our accommodation, guest experience and operational activities. While responsibility can be tailored to suit the successful candidate, the role is likely to include:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations across the properties
- Ensuring exceptional guest experiences from booking through to departure
- Coordinating housekeeping, maintenance and operational teams
- Managing guest communications and resolving issues when required
- Assisting with booking management and occupancy planning
- Supporting corporate retreats, group stays and special events
- Helping maintain high presentation standards across the site
- Participating in a shared on-call rota with the owner for weekends and guest emergencies
- Supporting business performance and operational efficiency
