Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Nursery Assistant to join our friendly childcare team. The successful candidate will support daily nursery activities, assist with child supervision, and contribute to creating a safe, nurturing environment for young learners. Duties
- Assist in the supervision and care of children within the nursery environment
- Support organised activities, including play, learning, and development exercises
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery space
- Support with meal times, nap times, and hygiene routines
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support the implementation of early childhood education programmes
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, including record keeping and activity planning
- Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour and social development
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or in a nursery setting is desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively within a team and demonstrate leadership qualities when needed
- Management skills to organise activities and support children's development programmes
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in child welfare and development
- Ability to work flexible hours on a part-time basis
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or supplies if required
